Hi! I’m Samantha Kunianski, but you
can call me either Samantha or Sam (or another variation if you want to be
creative). It’s my second year at UCSB and I am planning on majoring in
economics and accounting. I’m very close to my immediate family which consists
of my mom, dad, and younger brother. Before coming to college, I grew up in
Manhattan Beach, which is near Los Angeles, for my entire life. Everything in
the first eighteen years of my life was very much constant, as I lived in the
same house and went to the same school. I spent from second to twelfth grade at
a small school called Chadwick which is located just a Peninsula south in Palos
Verdes. My graduating class was 83 students which shocks most people that I tell.
I am now apart of the Greek Organization Kappa Alpha Theta, and joining has
been one of the best decisions I’ve made. In high school my entire friend group
was predominately guys, so having a large group of best girl friends has made
my college experience better than I could have ever expected.
Aside from
college, I’ve spent the last four summers and winter breaks working at a clothing
store in Fred Segal on Melrose, which often leads to people asking me if I have
met anyone famous. If by chance you had the same question, the answer is yes—I have.
From this job has also stemmed a huge interest in fashion, and perhaps a bit of
a shopping addiction. I also love dogs despite the fact that I don’t have one.
Aside from clothes and dogs, food should one hundred percent be grouped with my
favorite things. However, I wouldn’t say that I have any one particular
favorite food—as long as it’s good food. I hope that short summary helps you to
get to know me a little better!
